Made a mini cake for my friend’s birthday. We were eating at a sushi place, and figured a small cake would be enough for everyone at the table of eight to sample, but not be overwhelming.
sweet
holla.
Otherwise known as Challah. My 9 year-old daughter asked that we bake it last night, and the store-bought dough was not what she envisioned. At all. So…homemade it was, and Julia came to the rescue with a delicious recipe.

oven pancake.
A change from regular pancakes… Super easy and allowed me to get ready for work during the baking.
liqueur. of the skittles varietal.

My boyfriend loves skittles. I was searching for the perfect Christmas gift. This was a no-brainer. Clearly.
rainbow cake.

Once upon a time, we bought this rainbow cake mix.
golf course cake.
Back in the day (circa 2010) I used to work with a great team of people on a website/iphone app, Golflink.com. We have stayed close friends, and for one of our most recent reunions, my daughter and I baked & decorated a golf course cake.
summer blueberry torte.
cherry almond torte.
Memorial Day is a month away, and I am starting to think about pies and tarts. I first made this (recipe is from Food52.com) a couple of years ago, and not only has it become a summer dessert staple, but it has inspired a blueberry version that is far less time-consuming. For July 4th or Memorial Day, consider using star shaped cookie cutters.
my sister’s birthday. deluxe cheesecake.
My baby sister, Elizabeth, turns 21 this weekend, and asked if I would bake my Rosemary Sourdough Bread for her party. I will also make cheesecake, one that my mom used to bake (recipe & directions included), when I was young.
