Some collage ideas I am experimenting with. I first started taking pictures of debris on the divider of the 101 S/E heading to work everyday. The commute, with all the traffic, was killing my soul a little bit more each day. I started to distract myself with the discards on the median, and decided to start documenting.

I used to do a lot of plein air painting, usually small oil sketches. My brother-in-law, John Beerman, ordered some nifty little compact pochade painting boxes for us from England. They are small and perfect for an outing, usually at dawn or dusk, when the light is at its most magical.
On the left is a photo of my pochade box, all set up for painting, in Harriman State Park, in NY.
These are some of the small paintings I made when we were vacationing in Rangeley, Maine, summer of ’93.
landscape paintings.
Here are some of my intimate garden landscape paintings from the 90’s. They are all quite small, oil paint on board. My landscape environments are a combination of photographs I’ve taken, places I have been, places I wish to be, and my imagination.
